My three simple goals for 2015

January 1, 2015

There seems to be a lot of negative stuff written lately about the process of goal setting and I think that I understand the arguments against this old-fashioned way of thinking. But I’m not buying into it. Goal setting, for me, sets the necessary internal pressure needed to make things happen.

My three goals for 2015:

1. Re-launch my tax practice in January. I need help from friends to find 100 clients quickly.

2. Refinance my Sandy debt. I’m paying more than $2,000 per month in extra interest charges at up to 20% simply because all insurance claims and finance applications – more than a dozen in total – were declined in 2013 and 2014. The impact of this financial stress on my life and my family has been almost unbearable. This year I will be looking for a crowd-funding approach to get the marina and fishery business back on track and shift myself back from “emergency” to “normal” personal financial mode.

3. Continue on a path of 8 years of physical recovery. This year I expect to jog a 5K for the first time since 2006. I recently wrote about my reflections on the MTBI aspects of the 8 year recovery on this blog.

If I achieve these three, the rest of life will likely fall into place.
